Notes:
• Eusebius Hubbard was a veteran of the American Revolutionary War.
• No tombstone marks the grave. A memorial stone was placed by the DAR.
• Eusebius Hubbard was born in 1744 in Amelia County, Virginia. He married Amy Durrett of Caroline County in 1764 and had the following children:

  1. Durrett, born 1765
  2. Charles
  3. John
  4. George, born 1774 and married Mary Bellew
  5. Fanny married John Proctor
  6. Sarah, also known as Sally, first married Joseph Jamison and second Joseph Patterson, Sr.
  7. Eusebius married for the second time on June 1805, St. Louis County, Missouri, to Elizabeth Whiteside Pond Chitwood, a widow. He obtained a land grant from the Spanish Government and moved to St. Louis County, Missouri, about 1800.

• Deed Book H, document 20: Eusebius Hubbard of St. Louis County, Missouri freed his Negro slave Jack, to take effect on the death of Eusebius Hubbard, dated 18 August 1817. It also states that Eusebius Hubbard departed this life in the house of John Patterson, Sr., in the County of St. Louis, Missouri, on 17 March 1818, and this act of emancipation duly recorded 22 October 1818. Circumstantial evidence indicates he was buried in Cold Water Cemetery.
• Deed: The Hubbard Family Genealogical Newsletter, Issue #7, page 160, St. Louis Genealogical Society Library indicates:
Eusebius purchased 28 July 1767 from William Calloway 390 acres of the Little Otter River in Bedford County which he sold 23 August 1768 to Daniel Weisega (Weisiger) of Chesterfield County.
• Marriage: The Hubbard Family Genealogical Newsletter, Issue #7, page 160, St. Louis Genealogical Society Library indicates: “He is posited as having married Amy Durrett of Caroline County in 1764. Durrett Hubbard, their (1) child, was born in 1765. All of the marriage records of Caroline County before 1787 have been lost, and there is no extant record of the marriage. The loss of the deed, will and marriage records of Caroline County makes it impossible to determine the parentage of Amy Durrett. There were several Durrett families residing in Caroline County near the Hubbard family.”

Sources for birth:
The Hubbard Family Genealogical Newsletter, Issue #7, page 160, St. Louis Genealogical Society Library indicates: Eusebius Hubbard, son of John and Sarah Hubbard of Caroline County, was born 1743/44 in Caroline County before his father removed to Amelia County.
